Table for Two

 Table for Two

The meeting wasn't planned.

The green heron and the goose

dropped in separately.

They were after the same thing,

but shared the space peacefully.

Each needed only a portion

to satisfy its hunger.

Small Gifts

Small Gifts

Small gifts appear

throughout the day.

A butterfly stops by.

A bird breaks into song.

A new flower blooms.

Small gifts bring immense joy.

Lean

Lean

I am inclined to lean.

Sideways so I can see around an obstacle.

Back in a chair when I need to think.

Forward when I'm engrossed in a conversation.

Nature Makes Me Smile

Nature Makes Me Smile

The tree is upside down.

Clouds float nearby.

A bit of sky may show through.

The scene is setup by the sun.

At times like this, nature makes me smile.

Different Paths

Different Paths

There are many paths.

Some end after a few steps.

Others let you roam before

they force you to backtrack.

Leave you concerned about

which way to turn.

Don't give up.

Try different paths until

you navigate the maze.

Life Cycle

Life Cycle

to shriveled petals,

the cycle ends too soon.

It reminds me I should

bask in the sun

as often as I can.

Garden Show

Garden Show

I have a trio in my garden.

The members don't sing,

but they make me take note

of their bright color.

When they team up with the wind,

they swing to and fro and

may even take a bow.
