Cloud Cover
The cloud cover
is vast today.
Gray billows everywhere,
not a speck of blue.
The sun does not
play hide and seek.
It stays undercover.
The first blast of cold
air carries the fear
that the brightness
will never return.
I shudder to shake
off that feeling and
hold on to my belief
in the light.
