Dear 2021

Dear 2021

I am wary.
I can't celebrate
you as a whole.
Look too far
down the road.

The old year threw
a sucker punch that
landed everywhere,
put us on the ropes,
took our breath away.

So, I need to
celebrate day-by-day
with a smile in
the morning and a
thank you at night.

Then, on your
Dec. 31st, I'll look
back on
all the days.
I hope I will
be
sad to see you go.

Happy New Year! Thank you for reading poetry for another year.
