Unseasonable

Unseasonable

Spring teases the
Midwest this year.
It just doesn’t
want to stay here.
Temperatures rise
then take a dive.
Plants come alive
then fight to survive.
The calves are unsettled.
The humans are nettled.
Surely things will calm down
when summer comes round.

I had to save these from a previous cold snap.

Has spring arrived where you live or does winter keep making a comeback?

  2. Had to put the little ones in. I'm really holding out for summer, but right now, I'll take no more winter.

  3. Sweet little poem. I so want to blow some of this warmth down to you Michelle! I hope spring settles in really soon. :) Warm hugs?

  4. Thanks, Veronica. Do you have a few industrial strength fans? I'll definitely take virtual warm hugs.

  5. You have captured this spring in one neat, little poem. Except for the rain. OH, the cold, miserable rain we've had! It doesn't help when we think back on last year's spring full of warm sunshine.

    1. Yes, we had cold rain before it turned to snow. We also had about a 40 degree temperature swing, going from mid-80's to 40's in 48 hours. Thanks for stopping by from TALU.

  6. My mother in law were just talking about the weather last night and "the snow" which we couldn't remember who just got it. Sounds like our summer will be here before you even get spring! However, its unseasonably "cool" for us with upper 60s and 70s. You an go ahead and tell me to stop talking ;-) TALU

    1. Fortunately, we're in the 60's and 70's this week. More rain on the way, though. Thanks for hosting TALU, Kenya.

  7. I suspect that when Spring finally gets here it will last for about two days, then it will feel like Summer. TALU
