I see a fish in a tree.
The tree is upside down.
Clouds float nearby.
A bit of sky may show through.
The scene is setup by the sun.
At times like this, nature makes me smile.

I served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the early 1970's and was assigned to the Computer Sciences School in Quantico, VA. I have published a chapbook of grief poems, I Keep You with Me. In the Water
there are worlds
too deep for
us to see.
Even though they
are out of sight,
they look to us
to care for them.

Don't Fish Near Trees
Cast the line.
Feel a tug?
It comes
from behind.
Branches sway as
their catch dangles.
Trees, the natural
bodyguards for fish.
