I don't know
what's down the road.
Can't see over the hill.
Does the road come
to an abrupt end or
extend for miles and miles?
Guess it's time for me to see.
I'd rather take the ride
than sit around and wonder.

When I think
about my past,
I shake my head
at how long it is.
More than time is gone.
When I think
about my future,
I realize how short
it will be, comparatively.
Much of what will
fill it is yet to exist.
Perhaps these are
the best reasons to
focus on the present.
