Eclipsed
At first, the moon
was a dazzling white.
Then earth began
to cast its shadow.
Blackness edged
over the top.
It obscured just a piece
It obscured just a piece
and then it stopped.
What remained visible
had a golden glow.
Changed by the darkness
but still beautiful.

DeleteNovember has had it's share of eclipses. I think the next one is tomorrow if I'm not mistaken. Love an excuse to visit your poetry and look up at the evening sky! TALU-ho!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lara. I'll be trying to see what I can see tomorrow! TALU-ho to you!
DeleteVery timely since there is a lunar eclipse to take place tomorrow night. Sadly, we won't be able to see it here. I think we recently had a solar eclipse as well, but I apparently missed it somehow. I still remember the first solar eclipse I was aware of as a kid. It took place while we were out at recess, and the school had us in a panic over it, telling us not to look into it, etc. We all thought we would burst into flames or something. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I haven't done anything with solar eclipses, Chris. thanks for stopping by from TALU.
