Let Them Have Their Say

Let Them Have Their Say

Memories turn on in my mind.

I can't help but let them play.

There was a time when

I tried to keep them at bay.

They dropped in on me anyway.

I find it best to let them

have their say.

This poem was written for prompt 28 of the November PAD Chapbook Challenge. I used my Nov. 17 blog, Sweet Sounds, as the prompt for this poem.

A Visit to the Park

A Visit to the Park

Geese swim among the trees.

Go in and out with ease.

Reflections stay in place

by the sun's grace.

A visit to the park

makes me happy as a lark.

Sweet Sounds

Sweet Sounds

They play in my mind.

There was a time when

the music was live,

Now, the player has gone.

Sweet sounds are

 memories I can't help

but turn on.

This poem was written for prompt 2 of the November PAD Chapbook Challenge.

Tell Me Your Story

Tell Me Your Story

How did you get here?

How long will you stay?

What is your vision for another day?

Do you like what you see?

Does it make you feel at home?

Are you missing something?

Are you ready to roam?

This poem was written for prompt 14 of the November PAD Chapbook Challenge.

Cornered

Cornered

I backed in.

Now, I want to get out.

That should be simple.

Turn about.

But, every time I try to leave,

I can't make myself move forward.

This poem was written for prompt five of the 2022 November PAD Chapbook.

In the Water

In the Water

there are worlds

too deep for

us to see.

Even though they

are out of sight,

they look to us

to care for them.

This poem was written for prompt four of the 2022 November PAD Chapbook Challenge.

Try to Connect

Try to Connect

Don't be afraid

to reach out.

You may have to

go over some obstacles.

Put in the effort.

You never know

what will happen

once you make

the connection.

The Color is Gone

The Color is Gone

I feel the loss.

The color is gone.

What once was full

is now empty.

I have gone through this before

so I can see

a brighter place ahead.
