hate, greed and cruelty.
All the checks have bounced.
We have lost our balances.
But, we have a chance
to make the checks
viable again and
regain our balances.
If we do this,
it will be a
signature moment.

Hard to See
The grasshopper leaps
onto the plant
and blends in with
the green leaves.
It is hard to see,
almost invisible to me.
That is what it wants to be.
It leaps to safety.

but I know from
what is left
that you've
been strong

The sun finds me
even during dark times.
It is too bright at first sight
so I shield my eyes.
They adjust to the light.
I turn my back,
not ready to face it,
but its warmth
always comes through.

The shadow lies
beneath the tree,
covered in all
that is lost.
The shadow is
temporary.
The loss is not.

tree by tree,
the landscape
is transformed.
A blanket of
green turns into
a patchwork
of red, yellow
and orange.

in the colors,
