Sun and Water

Sun above water.
Light dances among the waves
till darkness descends.

I Stand Beside You

I Stand Beside You

I stand beside you,
poised to listen to your soul.
Unburden yourself.

No words are too harsh
to end our conversation.
I listen freely.

No conversation
is too long to hold my ear.
I listen closely.

No sorrow too great
to cause me to turn away.
I listen always.

I stand beside you
firmly, without fail.

I'm going to take a break next week. My next post will be Tuesday, August 30.

Glow

Glow

The light makes a splash.
Brightens random places.
Leaves shadows
in other spaces.

The eye-catching glow
garners all the attention.
We love shiny things.

The shadows sit
in the background,
serene and self-assured.
They know there are places
that the light will never reach.

Adrift

Adrift

Are the clouds set
adrift each day?
Do they wander aimlessly?
May they choose the spots
they want to hover?
Or, are they carried
from one place to another
with no say in where
the journey takes them?

Above It All

Above It All

Soaring above the
turbulence, safe and serene.
The sun hits the wire.

Natural Talent

Natural Talent

Art of the
highest order.
Sculptor unknown.
Has natural talent.
Works with wind,
sun, rain and snow.
The price is always
set in stone.

Perched

Perched

The bird is perched
high in the tree.
Feels the wind
but doesn't have
to fight it.
Looks at the view
in stillness instead
of in motion.
Sees with
newfound clarity.
