I carry the shadows of times past.
Feel rather than see them.
They weigh on my mind.
I can't blame them for staying.
It's up to me to let go.
I carry the shadows of times past.
Feel rather than see them.
They weigh on my mind.
I can't blame them for staying.
It's up to me to let go.
Today's Journey
Which way?
How far?
First step
is hard.
Next one
feels right.
Keep up
the pace
to find
your place.
A spot of color drops in.
The time for change
is upon us once again.
The eagle approaches a tree.
Is it in the way?
It blocks the view beyond it
and possibly below.
But, it offers shade and cover.
Places to sit and gaze
rather than hover.
This day, the eagle flies by.
On another, it will take a seat
and spend some time.
Burst Out
Seeds that shelter while they grow
burst out when they are ready.
Get a lift from the wind.
Scatter in different directions.
Leave behind empty shells
that hold on despite their loss.
The season's end nears.
You withstood all you faced.
Didn't break no matter
how hard the wind blew.
Let the rain pound you
and soaked up the puddles.
Even through the extreme heat,
you stood tall.
And, you will until the end.
Ripple Effect
ducks swim
water ripples
circles multiply
make waves
distance grows
how far
don't know
We Head Toward Fall
We head toward fall.
Await the change in colors
and the crunchy steps.
Watch the wind carry seeds
so they can break new ground.
Birds and butterflies pass through
on the way to other residences.
A reminder that winter
comes after the fall.
