Winter Drops In Early

Winter Drops In Early

Winter drops in early,
only stays a couple of days.

I put on my heaviest jacket
and a pair of boots.
.
My foot slips ever so slightly
when I step outside.

I have to brush snow off
the car before I start to drive.
.
The car slides a little bit
when I make a turn.

Winter drops in early
to remind us how it works.

The Opposite Shore

The Opposite Shore

The opposite shore
appears very far away.
Rest is within reach.

Planters

Planters

I am grateful to those
who sow the seeds.
The planters of
knowledge, beauty,
compassion and love.
They plant whether
the soil appears
fertile or not.

Their reward comes from
the act, not the results.

Curtains

Curtains

Branches, filled with gold,
bend to create curtains
that dangle above the water.
Soon, they will be empty,
but I will hang on to
the memory of
 watching them glow.

Choppy Water

Choppy Water

When the water is choppy,
I look for a sign of peace.
A glimpse of natural beauty
steadies me even though
the boat is still rocking.

Endless Clouds

Endless Clouds

Some days, the
clouds seem endless,
all white and fluffy, too.
They draw my attention
away from the spots of blue.

Branches Wave

Branches Wave

Branches wave
and show off
new colors.

Through the days,
branches wave
and leaves fall.

Despite their
emptiness,
branches wave.

This poem is a viator.
