Hold Still
The heron stands
at the water's edge
and does not move.
This creature
is not startled
into action
by the swaying
of a branch,
the swimming
of a duck,
the running
of a child, or
the clicking
of a camera.
It holds on to
its stillness
as the world
swirls around.
