Will they, won't they.
Do you, don't you.
Will we ever
calm the waters?

So Many Clouds
There are so many clouds today.
The sky is barely visible.
What brought them out in such numbers?
Are they a sign of storms to come
or drifters that will soon be gone?

Stories in the Shadows
I find stories in the shadows.
Am fascinated by the
thoughts the shapes elicit.
I see a tall figure
holding out two hoops.
Is this the beginning
of another show?
Will the hoops soon
be tossed about or
start spinning?
Or, is this performer
set to hand the hoops
off to the next in line
then take a place
in the audience?

Sparkling Water
Sparkling Water
I watch the ducks swim
in the sparkling water.
I move closer to them
to get a better look.
As I do, the sparkles disappear.
I wonder how many times
I have lost the beauty of a moment
by looking for more than
I could already see.

Mother Nature Lost Her Warmth
Was she affronted by
the way the geese play
on a mild winter day?
Did she send the snow
so we would put heavy coats
and knit hats on display?
Or, did she lower the wind chill
to fulfill the desire to present
her own production of frozen?

See the Light
See the Light
As long as I see the light,
I feel peace of mind
and let myself unwind.
My spirits take flight
as long as I see the light.
I get worn down by the daily grind
and what is happening to humankind.
But, I know I will be all right
as long as I see the light.
This is an Occitan (the official language of Catalonia) form called a dansa.

What Makes the Difference?
The water reflects nearby objects.
Sometimes the image is so clear,
I can't believe how lifelike it seems.
Other times, it breaks apart
and is barely recognizable.
I wish I knew what
makes the difference.
