Sitting on a Stone

Sitting on a Stone

Sitting on a stone

feeling the heat.

The butterfly travels alone.

Does it have a schedule?

How far has it flown?

It can't tell me.

Maybe, it just roams.

Stops when it is beat

and sits on a stone.

This is a form called magic nine.

Carry Me Away

 Carry Me Away

Carry me away to a new place.

Even if the trip is bumpy,

I will take it anyway.

Something new to see will

be welcomed by me.

Is my choice rash?

That is up

in the

air.

This poem is a nonet.

Take Me With You

Take Me With You

Won't you take me with you
as you fly from place to place?
I won't be any bother.
I need a change of pace.

You'll choose the direction,
when to stop and when to go.
I won't be any bother.
I need a change of pace.

I'm usually not like this,
but nothing's usual these days.
Won't you take me with you
as you fly from place to place?

Staying Home

Staying Home

From up in space,
the beings look
at earth.
See the waste,
the destruction
taking place.
They put off
the invasion.
No landing
spot seems safe.

This is another poem written for the Poetic Asides Poem-A-Day Challenge.

Sky High

Sky High

I sit
high in
the sky.
Sip drinks.
Skim lines.
Nighttime
descends.
White flecks
flicker.
I witness
the sight.
Drift, drift.
Let sleep
set in.

How do you like to pass the time during a flight?  Are you happy to have the option of staying connected by having  WiFi available?

A World of Choices

A World of Choices

Where would you go
to get away,
to take a break,
to breathe more freely?
Would you go to
the mountains and
look down upon
all that surrounds?
Would you go to
the ocean and
look straight ahead,
focused on the horizon?
Would you go to
the forest and
look up at the trees
until you see the sun
through the leaves?
Would you go to
one of the world's wonders
to look upon something
like no other?
Would you go to
somewhere commonplace,
similar to home but
in another space?
Where would you go
to take a break
if you could go
anyplace?
