Night Vision

What do you see

when your eyes are closed,

when your mind

should be at rest?

I see those I've

lost at their best

mingled with those

they never knew.

Why do I put them

 together? They are

 and always have been

worlds apart.

When the alarm sounds,

I ignore it and

try to hold onto

my impossible dream.
