Move On
I don't know how long
the heron has been
fishing when I spot it.
It stands in the water
and focuses forward.
Lowers its head to
take a closer look.
Barely moves its feet
to inch forward.
Goes through several
repetitions of this routine.
Suddenly, it jumps
onto the ledge that
runs the width of
the lake, folds its
wings and moves on.
