Still Matters

 Still Matters

I stay still
no matter what
goes on around me.
I let my thoughts
have their say
without getting
in their way.
Often, I find
my next move.

A Walk in the Park

A Walk in the Park

I take a walk
in the park.
Spend time with
some winged things.
See them fly,
walk and swim.
Watch the fish
make a splash.
Spot dragon flies
that are
lightning fast.
Reflect on all
in this space.
It does my
heart good.

Thoughtful

Thoughtful

I think too much.
I think too little.
I have yet to
think just enough.

Look Inside

Look Inside

I try to look inside,
but what's outside disrupts me.
I wish that I could hide,
but that won't solve anything.

What's inside and what's outside are related.

I have to look inside,
and there is no place to hide.

Sit

Sit

Pick a spot to stop,
sit. Leave with
a new perspective.

This form is the lune, also known as the American Haiku. The prompt to write a short form poem is part of the 2020 April PAD Countdown Challenge on Robert Lee Brewer's blog, Poetic Asides.

More Than Ever

More Than Ever

My time inside gives me hours to think.
Many thoughts may take one to the brink.
Become overwhelming in a blink.
Before I know it, my spirits sink.
Now, more than ever, I need to make art.
Share what's in my heart with pictures and ink.

This is a Welsh form called gwawdodyn hir
